Description: This vintage German Westerwald jug/pitcher is a true piece of art pottery. With its cobalt blue and gray color combination, all-over pattern, and hand-bpainted decorative elements, this water/beer pitcher is a unique addition to any collection. The 13-inch handmade and incised piece features a salt glaze finish, with an etched signature that confirms its authenticity. The Westerwald region, known for its high-quality clay, produced this original piece in 1969. The jug's production technique is pottery, with a production style that reflects the artistry of the era.The pitcher has been displayed in our smoke free home for many years. No chips or cracks that we can detect. The item is hand made so it does have some very minor flaws due to being hand made & incised . See the last 3 photos taken. The artist did not fill in the cobalt blue color on one side towards the bottom of the pitcher. See the photo, it looks like a crack but it is not. The item is very solid & heavy, weighs almost 6 pounds without secure packaging. Marked on the bottom with the artist initials, hard to make out. Also marked on bottom: Handarbeit (hand made), Mai (May) 1969.Please check out the photos as they are part of the description.Payment is due within 3 days of sale, thank you
