Description: Bonjour, welcome to Les Toiles Blanches stock!here is a lovely vintage apron that dates of the middle of the 20th century.The fabric is a fine soft cotton blend of medium weight with a nice shiny pale purple tone.These cotton fabrics were popular in France in the middle of the century for making work wear clothes and are called coton satin fermière !This vintage work wear apron is built like a dress with charming details! Aprons are special in the French peasant trousseau, being used everyday, they are often mended, patched with a lot of care. With time, they turn into lovely timeworn textiles, with beautiful tones of fadded blue. No need to use chemicals to wash antique textiles, a good simple natural soap such as the savon de Marseille is fine for every kind of linen. The textiles can be machine washed on warm. The warmer ithey will be washed, the softer and floppier they will turn. Again, no need to use a softener, a dash of white vinegar or a spoon of baking soda are perfect to maintain these wonderful textiles. Dry them on the line if possible, expose them under sun light to brighten the natural white. information The textiles I propose show signs of times, marks that are a moving, precious treasure which attests a bygone era. I will always try to describe them as accuratly as possible, giving many details, measurements and pictures to show the reality of the linen.
