Description: Vintage coin/token dated May 5, 1961 for the first US human space flight piloted by astronaut, Alan Shepard in the Freedom 7 space capsule that was the first launch for the Project Mercury. This token has an image of the Freedom 7 capsule on the obverse with the name and date of the mission. The reverse of the token has the pledge of allegiance along with AMVETS. The hole is original and allows for use as a keychain. The token measures 1 inch diameter. I have numerous other vintage NASA, space, and militaria, see other listings.
