Description: Vintage Simonds 26" hand saw. Interesting saw. The medallion had a 1887 patent date. See close up pics. The number 8 stamped for the PPI has a stamp next to it. Looks like it might say damaged. I never seen this before and I searched a little about and could not find any good info. I am thinking it's something like stanley did when they would stamp a tool imperfect becasue it had a small flaw but fully usable, maybe a worker took it home. The blade does have a slight wave to it. See last couple pics. Can be straightened out. It does not look kinked. See pics judge for yourself. Hard to picture. The handle is in good shape. Handle has wear and signs of use but solid. See lots of pics of handle. Has wheat ornate design carved into the handle. The blade has some dark patina and little scuffed up.
