Lights turn on if you press the red button firmly for a couple seconds before releasing button. Sometimes it takes a couple of attempts. Sometimes only one light comes on. Heavy duty lamp. Some sticker residue, paint splatters, dirt under side of shade, felt dirty/worn on bottom of base, was wiped with wet rag for pictures. BULBS ARE NOT INCLUDED, were only in pictures to test.
