Description: This is a Crescent No 8 deep cast iron chicken fryer skillet with matching cover in restored condition. The cooking surface has and uneven surface and is visible in the photos. Looks like it just came out of the factory this way. There are fine and small shallow pit from corrosion. The surface is still very smooth to the touch. The exterior bottom surface has the effects of sulfur erosion. Cover is in excellent restored condition. our sheets of printer paper slipped under one side of the pan stops movement on a polished granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin. Test for flatness of item. With the item resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until item stops moving. Item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hours. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
