Description: Vintage handmade wooden Peruvian Girl Doll dressed in colorful orange and green felt clothing. She is holding a string of different colored pom poms made of yarn over her head, perhaps meant to be flowers. A printed label "MAITE Peru" is stapled to her skirt. Maite is a given name used in Latin countries, so perhaps that is meant to be her name? It means beloved. This doll is from my mother LaVerne Hammond's collection. Her notecard indicates she purchased it at the Studebaker Estate Sale in November 1995 from the doll collection of Opal Maschker.
