THE CLOCK AND WATCH STORE Click images to enlarge Description Maker: Cauny Watch Company c.1960's Model: Reference Number - 300-1001 Description: This is a vintage Cauny 2 register chronograph wristwatch with a hand winding 17 jewel Valjoux 7733 in a rose gold filled/plated case coming to you for restoration. The watch is currently running and keeping time however, it is being sold as a non-running watch due to the unknown. I purchased this about 1 year ago hoping to get at it and that day just never came. The chronograph is all there but someone has deliberately moved the ecentrics so the drive wheel will not make contact with the sweep wheel gear. I suspect it was gone through to just "get it going" for eBay and was never properly serviced. The movement appears fairly clean so, it should just need a routine overhaul and adjustment to be on track again. The dial has bubbling/spotting and other marks throughout and is the original finish as are the hands. The rose gold plated or gold filled case looks similar to the Spillman case but I am not 100%. It has wear through to the gold plating throughout the case and it is signed Cauny Prima on the stainless steel case back. Any waterproof ratings are not guaranteed and it has not been waterproofed. It comes with a lizard grained brown leather strapI have been on a buying spree and some unexpected events popped up, causing me to do a catch and release on some fine watches I was hoping to restore over the next few years.
