The front is a browntone picture of the hall, with a flagpole rising above the building and a dome at the rear. Erected in 1770, at the end of the Carpenters’ Court, South Side of Chestnut Street between Third and Fourth Streets, it was in this hallowed hall that the First Congress of the Colonies convened in 1774. It also was home to Franklin’s Library Company, The American Philosophical Society, and the First and Second Banks of the United States. This postcard is new and has not been written on. There are no creases or tears. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
