Description: I knew I’d come across one of these someday! The classic Brazilian made Giannini Craviola, a truly stunning world famous design. This is one of the very desirable steel-string pin-bridge versions, c. 1970s. Beautiful rosewood body, but definitely laminates. Quite a bit of player wear cosmetically, but no abuse. Guitar is rock solid, and plays and sounds great, but it had also been quite obviously over-tensioned. Slight forward tilt to the bridge, but with minimal top lifting, so action is not affected. You can also slightly make out the positions of the top braces as evidence of some heavy tension in the past. Came with the neck already quite cleanly off, so it was a simple reset. However, I made an executive decision to add an interior hanger bolt (inside, NOT through the heel!), much in the way that a modern internal bolt neck joint works. The dovetail on one of these has very little angling where the neck meets the body route, and I had never re-glued a neck with so little physical support from the wood itself. The bolt is not doing any of the actual holding, but it’s acting as a failsafe to distribute the stress and make sure nothing ever moves. Internal bridge plate was a little worn (not bad enough to replace), so I reinforced it with an uber thin piece of birch plywood for better string seating. Plays nicely and has solid punchy tone. Obviously would be an incredible stage piece. Padded gig bag. Sorry, it didn’t have one of the cool original Craviola-shaped cases. NOTE: USA regulations under the CITES convention (trade in endangered species) have finally been loosened to allow easy international shipping of vintage instruments, unless they contain BRAZILIAN r******d (Dahlbergia nigra). Unfortunately, I can't really guarantee whether or not here is any Brazilian on this guitar, so it cannot be shipped internationally.UPDATE: Ebay now demands that we sellers give THIRTY DAYS for returns. Any honest buyer will know within a few days whether there is any need for a return. I no longer take returns through Ebay, but I will never "stick" another musician with a guitar. Please contact me if there any problems, and we'll work it out.
