Description: I am auctioning off my 48-year-old collectible white porcelain coffee mug of the Boy Scouts of America Johnny Appleseed Council, Mansfield, Ohio, 1972 Fellowship Dinner. The mug has the classic gold ring around the top so popular with the Boy Scouts in the late 1960s and 1970s.This mug has a weighted bottom, and measures 3.25 inches tall, 3.5 inches in diameter, and weighs 10 ounces. It has an easy-to-grasp handle, and holds about 10 ounces of coffee. This mug is in great condition, with a fresh bright red logo -- an apple, of course, with a bite out of it, and three appleseeds. Around the squared logo it reads "JOHNNY APPLESEED COUNCIL," and at the bottom, it reads "Fellowship Dinner 1972." It is all in bright red which stands out beautifully against the white porcelain. The mug includes its year -- "1972" -- which is itself fairly unusual, and it is is in great shape, with no chips, cracks, or missing porcelain. Your best guide to condition is the set of large, high-resolution, pictures I've included with this listing. This is one of the nicest mugs in my BSA mug collection, the only one commemorating a fellowship dinner which was so important in the Scouts when I was boy. Most of my mug collection is up for auction along with this one.If you decide to bid, good luck! If you win the auction, I'll pack your mug carefully and ship it to you via USPS the day after payment.
