Description: EXTRA LARGE 3D WALL RELIEF MEASURING: 31 INCHES TALL 13&1/2 INCHES WIDE 1&3/4 INCHES DEEP AND WEIGHING XXX POUNDS It used used and shows some wear here and there, but overall, it is in excellent condition and displays nicely. The intricate carvings are beautiful and very detailed and it is obvious that it took the Artisan many days to complete. There are cuts and groves dug deep into the reliefs which were obviously time consuming but help add to the 3D effect. I do not know the age, but there are corner guards made of brass which have screws that I date around or before the 1950’s. It is not perfect, as I do believe there are 2 small areas that have lost small pieces of wood (see last 2 pics), each being smaller than a dime in size. Also, someone wrote in pencil $150 on the backside. Still, the cravings are exquisite, detailed and tell of a storied past and the struggle of battle and survival. Warrior scenes are very hard to find and very unique, this one shows one warrior shooting a bow and arrow and actually hitting his adversary in a life and death struggle. This vintage Balinese wall carving depicts Indonesian warriors in stunning 3D high relief. The intricate details of the carving are a testament to the rich culture and artistry of Indonesia. The provenance of the carving is not available, but it is clear that it was handmade with great care and attention to detail. The carving is perfect for collectors of Asian culture and history. It is a unique piece that would make a great addition to any collection. The carving is from the Indonesian culture and is a representation of the Indonesian people. It is a beautiful piece of art that will add a touch of elegance to any room.
