Description: Good morning all. Here is a vintage Auburn Tool Co., Auburn, NY, Made in USA, No. 105 1/8" slip boxed side beading plane. The body and the wedge are in nice condition, probably because there is not alot of call for 1/8" side beads. There are no dents on the heel. Thi iron is sharp. Not clear to me if it has been re-sharpened. The profile matches the sole. As I just said, as many time as I have read Graham Blackburn's chapter on beading planes, I cannot get the hang of using them, so I don't know how well it cuts. The back of the iron is flat. The dark spot in the bottom right of the last picture is a dark spot, not a back bevel. I don't see that the Auburn Catalogs online tells what wood the plane body would be, but it is a nice dense, heavy wood - the plane weighs over 9.5 ounces..
