There are very few “good” vintage shirts out there to begin with (from the 90’s) so to have one with all three of these wrestling icons on one shirt is truly remarkable. In top of that, this may have been the last Asics item produced in collaboration with Dave Schultz before his tragic and sudden passing. I have personally never seen another in all of my time collecting! This is an amazing shirt with awesome graphics and colors! Again, this shirt is brand new with tags! No major flaws whatsoever (no major holes, rips, tears). This is a true vintage wrestling tee from the mid 90’s. This is not a reprint or replica. This is 100% true and authentic vintage. He coached individuals and teams at the college level and also privately. Dave and his brother, wrestler Mark Schultz, both won gold at the same Olympics (1984). The Schultzes were one of three sets of brothers (the others are Buvaisar and Adam Saitiev, and Anatoli and Sergei Beloglazov) to win both World and Olympic championships. The Schultz brothers have won more NCAA, World, and Olympic titles than any other American brother combination in history. Schultz was employed as a coach by John du Pont, a multimillionaire philanthropist who sponsored the private Foxcatcher wrestling team at an amateur sports center known as Foxcatcher Farm that he set up on his estate in Pennsylvania. In January 1996, du Pont murdered Schultz. Danny Mack Gable (born October 25, 1948) is an American former folkstyle and freestyle wrestler and coach. Considered to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, Gable is a two-time NCAA Division I national champion, a world gold medalist, and an Olympic gold medalist. Gable was only the third wrestler to be inducted into the United World Wrestling's Hall of Fame in the Legend category.[1][2] In 2014, Gable was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame[3] and on December 8, 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump awarded Gable with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. From 1967 to 1970, Gable attended Iowa State University, where he competed in wrestling. At Iowa State, he became a two-time NCAA Division I national champion and three-time finalist.
