Description: For sale a very rare General Motors sales award plaque. Designed by Norman Bel Geddes (1893-1958) in 1933 for the commemorative of the 25th anniversary of General Motors. This plaque is made from sterling silver, it is 9" diameter & mounted inside a heavy wood frame that measures approx. 15" x 14". This was awarded by General Motors-Holdens, Australia, 1948 to 1984. Manufactured by the master medal makers Stokes & Sons, Melbourne, Australia. This is a rare plaque, the amount made no one knows, but this is only the second one I have ever seen in over thirty years. It is made from embossed sterling silver, not solid like the smaller medals, it is mounted on a heavy wood frame. The condition of the plaque is mint, the wood frame has a dent lower right. Two of the four screws holding the plaque are missing their nuts, but the plaque is not loose & the nuts can be replaced. This is a very impressive large example of Bel Geddes futuristic design. Guaranteed to be as described or it can be returned for a full refund. Photos are part of the description please look carefully. Please e-mail any questions.
