Description: This vintage antique sugar bowl is larger than it appears, made by Meakin Bros & Co, 1865-1873, England. What a charming addition to any home, would look wonderful in a country, farmhouse or elegant shabby style kitchen. This is a sugar bowl with a missing lid, but still has so many wonderful uses, a spooner, vase, old paint brush holder, pencil or pen holder or it's intended use as a sugar bowl plus so many other uses. Embossed with ivy and vines. There is a tiny crack line at the very bottom of one handle. At first it looks like someone had glued the handle, as seen in the pictures. However, when I wiped that area with a damp cloth it wiped right off. The handle is not broken, just a thin crack line, I think someone may have tried to add glue to the crack line at some point. The handle is very secure. There is some light crazing with one side having a larger grunge mark and a few smaller areas of staining in various spots throughout. The sugar bowl is an original piece dated between 1865-1873, England. Measuring 5.75" in height x 7.25" wide measuring from the center of each handle, with a 3" opening from the center and 4.50" across the outer rim. In wonderful condition other than what I noted on the bottom part of one handle. ~ PLEASE NOTE ~ The silverware and wooden spoons shown in a few of the pictures is NOT included, this was added for show only, to see how charming this piece is.
