Description: Vintage Alvino Bagni Art Pottery Vase Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Italian art pottery vase designed by Alvino Bagni and imported by Raymor. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This piece is about 13 1/8 inches tall with a maximum width of about 4 3/8 inches. It weighs 3 pounds 0.9 ounce, unpacked. This piece has a great look with geometric sgraffito patterns over its simple bottle form. This has a narrow neck and mouth, so you might also call the form a weed pot or bud vase. The background color is blue, with areas of tan and brown. This is an early red clay body example. This would be a great addition to a collection of midcentury modern decor or European art pottery. Identification This vintage piece is unmarked. It has remnants of its Raymor label beneath (see Photo 6). Alvino Bagni (1919 - 2000) designed it, and Raymor was the importer. The red clay body (as opposed to the later white clay) indicates that this may have been made circa late 1940s to 1950s. Condition This piece displays well overall, and it has no cracks. There is a very small glaze flake to the side of the next, as shown in Photo 7. It has a small rim chip, as shown in Photo 8. There is very light wear. Variations in glazing are as made. Please review the photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying. Terms of Sale 1.
