Description: Offered for sale is this gorgeous carved Bakelite bracelet from the 1940's. The bracelet is a solid Dark mahogany color. Looking at the interior of the bracelet using a flashlight, its looks like the bracelet was a semi translucent ruby red color whose patina has darkened over the years to its current lovely dark reddish brown mahogany color. (See photo #5) The bracelet has been decorated with crosshatch carvings on opposing sides of the bracelet that are separated by large deep leaf carvings. The leaf and crosshatch carvings are especially well done and look fantastic! The bracelet is 3/4" wide with a 3/8" thick domed shape that weighs 41 grams and has a standard 2.5" interior diameter. This bracelet is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Positive test for Bakelite using Simichrome polish.
