Description: Up for sale here we have a Vintage 1976 RINGLING BROS AND BARNUM & BAILEY Styrofoam Poster Board Display. In the early 1970s Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey began reproducing many of their historic posters. They were advertised as “The Only Antique Posters Authorized by The Greatest Show On Earth.” These reproductions were sold at the concessions stands on the traveling shows and by mail as advertised in the souvenir program book. They were also sold in the gift shops at their theme park, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus World, which opened in 1974 in central Florida near Disney World. They made reproductions of the earlier posters from the early 70s until the early 80s. This piece you see here was a display for the posters they sold. This piece was created in 1976 and would have hung on the wall at one of the gift shops in their theme park. It was the display example of the poster you could purchase. We have seen some of the posters come up for sale, but finding this gift shop display board would be very difficult making it a RARE find. You can see that in the bottom corner it reads P-7 1921. The number P-7 shows that it was made in 1976 according to our search. It measures 36"wide x 23.5"high. This display poster has some water marks on the left side. It has some white paint on the right side. Some edge wear and other minor marks. Overall very straight and no creases in the styrofoam poster board.
