Vintage 1960s Teisco EJ 3 Gold Foil Pickups Electric Guitar Red Sunburst Vibrato

Description: This is a vintage 1960s Teisco EJ-3 / EJ 3 Gold Foil Pickup Electric Guitar with Red Sunburst. It is one of the coolest vintage '60s guitars I've had. It sounds as good as it looks. The guitar features 3 great-sounding gold-foil pickups, one volume and one tone control, a vibrato system, and three independent pickup switches. The amount of different sounds you can get out of this guitar is really amazing. The pickups have been rewound and are measuring around 3.66K Ohms each (very close to the original pickup resistance). When you put it in the neck-only position, it sounds clean and soulful. In the bridge-only position, it sounds clean, sharp and with a good proportion of treble. In the middle-only position, it sounds like power. The most interesting switch position, in my opinion, is when all three are on. In this position it almost gives it an "AM" radio sound due to the pickup resistance going down. When the neck and bridge selected together, it sounds thin and clean like a Stratocaster out of phase. We rewound the neck and the bridge pickups to be out of phase. The EJ-3 has a smaller-sized body with a huge headstock relative to its size. The red sunburst finish looks great in person complimented by black sides and back. The rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays looks rich and clean. The tuners are in excellent smooth-working condition. Each pickup sits on the original foam padding and can be adjusted up or down. The neck is attached with 5 screws and a metal neck plate that reads "Made In Japan". The guitar is in very good condition with minor glaze cracks in the finish, some minor neck wear along the fretboard edge between the nut and 1st fret, and some minor wear on the back and headstock. "Mic 1" switch works, but is a little loose feeling compared to the other two.
