Description: This statue depicts Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko, a national hero and symbol of Ukraine. Shevchenko is a Ukrainian poet, writer (playwright, prose writer), artist (painter, engraver), as well as a public and political figure. This commemorative statue of him is made from a cast metal that has the appearance of brass. The statue is pre-owned, but in very good condition, and the only signs of wear are to the green felt pad on the bottom, which also bears a label with the title: ARKA Department Store 448 East 7th St. New York, NY GRamercy 3-3550 The front has dates & name inscribed. Measurements are: 9” high 2.5” wide 2.5” deep This statue is a great addition to a collection for any historian of the earlier eras and historical figures of Ukraine.
