Description: Vintage 1950s I. Shuman & Sons Boston, Blonde ?Mink? Fur Coat, 3/4 Slv,, FLAWS. The lovely older lady who is parting with this coat told me that this was her mother’s in the 1950s. That fits quite well with the research I have done and found an ad for I. Shuman & Sons on Tremont Street, Boston in a February 1956 edition of the Boston Jewish Times. All signs and research tell me that this fur is mink HOWEVER, it is not marked or tagged so I cannot guarantee. I am an average build womens size medium, 5’ 5”, 140 lbs and the coat fit generously, even with a sweater underneath. Measurements in the photos. Fur is in overall good condition with no bald patches and minimal shedding. Lining is more worn with loose/missing threads in the seams (primarily in the right arm opening and right front placket) open seams, and a few lining holes. The elastic button loops are stretched out with virtually no elasticity left. This would make a great coat for formal wear with some lining and button loop repair, or a great cutter piece for projects. Shipped USPS Priority Mail.
