Description: Vintage Ceramic Japan era Baseball Player CATCHER Figure Finger Number One Sign with Chest Protector Catcher’s Mask Figurine green square base arm repaired.There are no markings with a brand or date on this item although based on similar items with the style and material may be from the 1950’s 1960’s Japan era. Baseball player has the catcher’s mask between his knees, wearing chest protector, brown knee protectors, a baseball catcher’s mitt/glove for left hand and bare hand on the right side holding up the index finger indicating number one. Made of ceramic/porcelain type material from this era and painted features. Unfortunately has a repair along the back area near the number 11 (second 1) and on the arm with the hand holding finger up. Also noticed a small chip on the underside of the facemask edge. Please do not purchase if any of this is a concern for you. On the underside is a small piece of masking tape and some spot marks. Nice paint on face, and details throughout on the figurine with the high gloss finish (blue background in one photo to give coloring details with the black facemask vs. a black background). There is a little paint wear on the red areas of the figure and in some places some excess paint spot such as on the chest protector. Behind the one shoe on the back there is a small unpainted/unglazed spot that is in the making and not a flaw in the item. Please do not purchase if any of this is a concern for you.
