Description: Vintage 1940s Wedding Dress Beading Slipper Satin Train As-Is XS Distinctively Dewees Box, the dress has no tag in it, the only name on the inside of it, is on the shoulder pad. This beautiful light ivory-color slipper satin wedding dress dates to the 1940s. Some wonderful features include undeniably 40s style-fitted lines, long sleeves with pointed wrists, side zipper, and a 6.5 in. long train with wrist loop. This dress still presents beautifully and could be made wearable with a professional cleaning and may have a few mends, that I did not see, I believe that this dress would best fit a modern XS, but please refer to the flat lay measurements below. Shoulders: 15 in. Pit to pit: 16 in. Full Bust with the fitted body ( I believe no more than 32 in.) the dart seam looks to be an A to small B cup Top shoulder to front point at waist: 18 in. Waist: 13in Sleeve length from top seam to longest point: 24 in. Wrists: 3.5 in. (with button opening) Front length from top shoulder: 59 in. Back length from neck line: 96 in. There are also several yellowing stains and marks to the satin throughout that I have not tried to treat. this is an as is dress. Small bit of background, the dress was worn for the wedding and the reception, it was taken off (not cleaned) and put back in the original Distinctively Deweese box, where it spent its life, accept when it was showed to a few family members and put back. This come from the son of the married couple, I did not know them personally, I have no other background. The dress has a faint vintage/storage scent that I don’t believe to be overpowering, I do believe that once it is cleaned properly that it will not be an issue. PLEASE NOTE that not every issue is pictured. I try to be thorough in my listings and believe that most issues are described. However, it is possible that I may have missed some minor ones. The slipper satin in this dress is most likely acetate based and may develop a strong vinegar scent if stored in plastic.
