Description: VINTAGE 1940S JANTZEN “SEA RIPPLE” HEAVILY RUCHED TEAL SWIMSUIT BATHING SUIT Made in the USA Vintage Tag Size 40 Thick but somewhat stretchy material, full foundation garments built in, including metal boning in the bust going straight up and down instead of modern underwire. Metal zipper, metal bra hooks, and halter strap has metal claw type clasps. Suit has several small condition issues to note and pictures are provided. Please keep in mind this suit is pre-owned by a 40’s bombshell and it is over 80 years old. While the color is still pretty vibrant considering age and use, it does have fading and pilling all over. Some loose stitches here and there. There is a very small hole in the crotch lining and one that does not go all the way through near the hip. I also noticed an oil like stain in darker light but in brighter light and with all the ruching it was hard to see. I have circled all these issues of note in the pictures. At first I thought there was a drag mark in the fabric though I now believe it was were the zipper was finished. This area is also circled in collage photo. This would make a nice collectors piece or could even be framed. If you an appreciation and reverence for great vintage garments and their history I think you will love this!
