Description: Vintage 1930s black rayon & velveteen dress with 28 mother of pearl buttons & red ric rac trim. This is a modern size medium, the measurements are taken with dress laying flat: SHOULDERS: 13" measured from seam to seam SLEEVES: 10.5" Puff style sleeve with small shoulder pads BUST: 19" (38) Measured pit to pit. WAIST: 14" (28) Dress has ties at the waist. HIPS: 19" (38) LENGTH: 42" Measured from top of shoulder to hem SWEEP: 44" FABRIC: Looks & feels like rayon crepe, you will want a slip underneath as it's somewhat transparent in the light (you can see in pix where I used the flash) ISSUES: Seams need reinforcing, there are some areas where the stitching has come out leaving small holes (on the seams only, the fabric itself doesn't have any holes in it, this dress is very wearable). The fabric has a bit of a sheen to it, I am not sure if that's how it is supposed to be or if it was ironed improperly? There is a small area on the back velveteen panel near the sleeve that's missing the velvet (super thin line that's 1.5" long). Dress once had a tag of some sort but it was cut, you can see what's left in the pix. I believe this dress is from the 1930s, but could also be early 1940s, and is being sold AS-IS.
