Description: This is a fine Vietnam War U.S. M1C Paratrooper helmet with Mitchell camouflage cover that remains in excellent condition. The shell is without dents and has both clip-on M1C chinstraps with snap tabs fastened at the rear with a claw and buckle fasteners at the ends. The cover is faded and worn from exposure to the sun and monsoons. It is fitted over the shell with the green side out. The cover is marked on one of the flaps with, ‘COVER, HELMET, CAMOUFLAGE, DSA 100-73-F-U289, 8415-261-6833 LOT 7, MPLS. SOC. F/T BLIND INC’ which dates to 1973. It is held tightly in place on the shell by an original elastic helmet band that is marked with the name ‘BELLINGER’. The M1C liner is undated and with ‘A’ yokes and snaps at the sides. Also present is the U.S. marked open chin cup. The suspension webbing is the dark green crossover type. Both the liner and the sweatband are marked. This is a great looking helmet that is in excellent, field used condition.8883
