Description: Victorian Period Silverplate Swing Dome Chafing Dish w Inserts Hand Chased Dome A very nice Victorian period antique silver plate dome serving chafing dish with a swing dome top. I have not found any maker's marks on this piece. It features a chased floral detail on the top of dome. Footed base. The interior has 2 separate silver inserts for keeping the food from the hot water below. One is solid, the other is pierced. Measures 13 inches length handle to handle. Width is 8.25 inches. The inserts are approximately 9 inches length. 6.75 inch width. Height to top of dome when closed is 8 inches. Condition overall is quite good. Missing one bolt on end. No dents, dings or wear to the silver plating. Overall nice conditon and a nice patina. The legs and the handles have some tarnish and it can use a good polishing. As to the origin and maker. It most likely is an English made item. A nice Victorian piece! Please take a look at many new items added daily.
