Description: DATING TO THE 1860’S FASHIONED OF A BROWN SILK BENGALINE AND IS TRIMMED IN BROWN SILK RIBBON PIPING. THERE ARE TWO PIECES. ONE PIECE HAS A NARROW TOP WAISTLINE WITH CARTRIDGE PLEATING AT THE WAISTBAND CONNECTION. FLARES AS IT FALLS WITH SQUARE CORNERS. THE MAIN PIECE HAS A FULL WAISTBAND AND FLARES AS IT FALLS WITH A GATHERING ON THE LEFT SIDE. CONDITION: THERE IS A LARGE SPATTER STAIN IN THE CENTER BACK, AS PICTURED. THE HOOK AND EYE ARE MISSING FROM THE WAISTLINE CLOSURE AND THE SEAM ON CENTER REAR WAISTLINE IS COMING OPEN. THE OTHER PIECE HAS TWO PINEHAD HOELS WHEN HELD TO THE LIGHT. BOTH PIECES HAVE TAGS FROM THE MUSEUM FROM WHICH IT WAS ACQUIRED. STRONG AND USEABLE FABRIC.
