He studied masters in Mashiko such as Shoji Hamada & Tatsuzo Shimaoka. His style, though, is more that of the great Mino potters. This platter is a great example of the use of the Shino glaze. Shino is one of the most well known of the glazes used in the Mino kilns. The rim of the platter is decorated with Matsuzaki’s characteristic scroll patterns which is known in Japan as “ Kara Kusa”. The platter comes with a signed box.
