For your consideration is a Mamod TE1a Live Steam Tractor made in England in the early 1970s. It belongs to the third generation of Mamod Tractors. This is one of the first batches with reversing mode. This Live Steam tractor is in very good condition for being over 50 years old.It is quite dirty. I suspect an accumulation of 50 years old dust and scum. It should clean up easily.There is hardly any defect or corrosion.It has been fired but was well cared for, but, apparently, never cleaned. It has been air tested (video) and should not give much trouble to operate on steam.Sometimes, an older gasket may have dried up, needing replacement. Hopefully it's not the case. The toy is complete, including the original box and its inserts in very good condition.I did notice that the little chain at the end of the whistle is missing.The tractor is all original. It has been fired but well cared for. You won't find any sign of abuse. You will need some denatured alcohol (any drugstore - 91% recommended). I also very strongly suggest using solely distilled water. This item was been around for 60+ years without a whole lot of changes.
