Versailles Renaissance Medieval French Wall Tapestry 17th C. Rambouillet 85 x 98

Description: Editions d'Art de Rambouillet makes the best reproductions of antique tapestries in the world. This tapestry was made in France in October of 1997, using the silk screening process, which is far superior to today's standard jacquard loom weaving. In my opinion, if you find a better looking tapestry than a Rambouillet, it is an original. If you search for "Rambouillet tapestry" on Youtube, you can find some videos going over the history of the company and the process they use. This is a reproduction from a tapestry made in the 17th century, titled Versailles. The original is housed in the Pau Museum in France. It is a tapestry – probably the finest – from the series “King’s Castles”. The palace of Versailles is represented inside a sumptuous frame, made of two columns and a banister with profusion of flowers and fruit. Close-up some knights go with their dogs. The tapestry measures 85" x 98". It is 24% cotton, 26% wool, 24% linen, and 26% viscose. This Versailles scene is one of the best copies of any tapestry around, and this particular one has great colors. Not many have been produced in this large size. I would hang it on my own wall but I have no space. There are some irrelevant stains to the backing, and one stain that I have found in the top left corner of the tapestry, which blends in. Also, there are two slits which have been cut into the backing, probably to put a rod inside. The tag is currently detached from the backing but I may sew it back on.
