Insert the single groove keeper into the end of the plier, grab by the valve stem from the groove and below. Close the plier, then release the valve spring, which traps the keepers and pushes the tool off the valve/keepers. 2. Insert the multiple groove keeper into the end of the plier, reach in and pull one side into the groove. Close the plier, then release the valve spring, which traps the keepers and pushes the tool off the valve/keepers. Since you do not run the risk of dropping the valve keeper, or damaging it while being installed, this saves a lot of time on each installation. Also, other tools install single grooves only, and the Valve Keeper Installation Tool eliminates the need for multiple tools. One tool does it all!
