Description: Original early 1930’s photograph of Captain Donald Curtis. Curtis, as a Colonel, was XO of the 4th Marine Regiment (China Marines) and a Battalion Commander in 1941 when he was captured on the fortress island of Corregidor after evacuating North China. He spent the war a Prisoner of War and wS advanced to the rank of Brigadier General while in captivity and retired at that rank. He was awarded the Legion of Merit for his time in captivity.
