The VINTAGE CUSTOM series revisits the ideas conceived in the prototype. This time, we have a reissue Stratocaster from 1957, known as the "Mary Kaye" Stratocaster, which combines a white blonde color with visible grain and gold parts. Named after the legendary female guitarist and Las Vegas performer "Mary Kay," this is one of the early models custom-made by Fender at the time. The body material is a rare one-piece ash, and the neck material is a one-piece maple with straight grain. The fingerboard radius is "7.25 - 9.5 Compound Radius", and the frets are "JESCAR / #50085". It fits easily in your hand from low to high positions and has excellent playability. The neck grip is "57 Style Soft "V". The soft V-shape makes it easy to grip, allowing you to experience the specifications and feel of a '57 guitar. The "Aged White Blonde" color shows through the characteristic grain of the ash, and the vintage specs, including a one-ply 8-point pickguard and gold parts, give it a luxurious look. The finish is a very thin NOS finish called a "flash coat lacquer finish," which reproduces the guitar's unused condition. The pickups are three original "Hand Wound '57 Strat" pickups. The guitar features a moderate bass punch and well-extended treble, giving it a vintage tone unique to a custom shop. Another attractive feature is the excellent response, which reflects the delicate picking nuances that can only be felt with hand-wound guitars. The controls are a 5-way switch with master volume, front tone, and center tone. As for the condition, there are picking scratches and line scratches on the body and pickguard, but no other noticeable scratches or dents. This is an instrument that looks and sounds just like new.
