USA Handcrafted Rack Mount Peavey Classic 60/60 Stereo Tube Power Amp 6L6 Tube

Description: PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION FOR CONDITION, SHIPPING, & OTHER INFORMATION. Up for sale is this Handcrafted in the USA Peavey Classic 60/60 Rack-mount Stereo Tube Power Amp. Tested and fully functional. This unit sounds amazing. The User manual for this power amplifier is available online in PDF form. I was still able to find it and download when posting this listing so you should have no problem finding it for yourself. These old USA handcrafted Peavey Power Amps are real sleepers and are a solid quality product that were somehow overlooked by many as was many of the Handcrafted products Peavey made in the 80’s & 90’s. Definitely a rock solid power amp for any use. This power amp looks to be manufactured in 1991 based on the serial number 00-05150682. From the research I’ve been able to do there is a website that list the USA made Peavey products serial numbers first four numbers from and to with a corresponding year of manufacturing. 0440xxxx to 0519xxxx corresponds to the year 1991. Front panel keeps it pretty simple with a Power on switch and Standby switch. This ensures that no knobs can get broken or turned by accident as they are all on the back of the power amp. The back of the power amp is where all the other controls and inputs & outputs are. On the back there are two Sensitivity (Volume) Control Knobs, two XLR Inputs and two Unbalanced 1/4” input jacks. There are also two Line Out Level Control Knobs, two 1/4” Line Output jacks along with two Balanced Direct Outputs. There are also two 4 Ohms, two 8 Ohms, & two 16 Ohms speaker outputs so you have multiple Ohms output options. (See Pics) One for each channel of the power amp. However only one speaker output per channel can be used at a time as far as I am aware. This Power Amp uses 4 USA Peavey Super 6’s branded 6L6 Power Tubes and 3 preamp tubes. Tubes looked to be all original The power chord for this power amp is over 9 feet long. (See Pics) It is actually 115 inches of chord from the unit to the beginning of the actual plug. (See Pics) I have plugged a preamp into this power amp and connected a speaker to it and given it a good run through. This unit is fully operational. I purchased this power amp about 10+ years ago. It has been mounted in my rack ever since. Comes from a pet free and smoke free home. At least while have owned it as I don’t know the history of this power amp before I bought it. I have a few power amps that I will be listing in the coming weeks so check back often and save me as a favorite seller. The handles on the front of the power amp look to be bent. One is bent for sure and the other may or may not be bent. Hard to tell. Also one side of one of the rack mount ears is bent in a little as well. (See Pics) The rack ear could probably be bent back in place with a pair of sheet metal tongs, I just never tried cause it still mounts in a rack as it is. The bent handle never was a problem for me either as it is still just as sturdy and works as a handle perfectly it’s just bent. These are only cosmetic issues and do not affect the actual function of the power amp at all. These were also already present on the unit before I purchased it. These are a Peice of Music history as this power amp is from a time gone by when Peavey was a quality USA company that designed and built everything here in America in Meridian Mississippi to be exact. Now they are but a shell of the company they once were and nothing is made in America anymore. They subcontract everything overseas now. Such a shame. I miss the 80’s and even the 90’s. Back when America still produced products that didn’t cost a ridiculous amount to make. Music and music gear will never be the same again that’s for sure. I’ve used this power amp for many of my Guitar preamps as well as for my Bass Guitar preamps. I love tube power amps for my Bass sound. Try finding a Bass amp that is tube powered and you’ll see that there are only a few made these days and they are upwards of $3,000 in price. I believe Orange makes one and Mesa Boogie makes one still. Yes they’re heavy but man do they sound awesome. So much has gone by the wayside for tone to give way to convenience of weight and portability. Now everyone shows up to gigs with a line 6 pod where when I gigged I carried around a tube head and 4 x 12 cab on casters obviously but tone was what the gig was about not convenience. Technology has gotten better but nothing sounds like real tube tone. Nothing!!! Please review all pics as they are part of the description.
