Description: Navy Diaphragm Mark V Gas mask dated the first week of November 1955 by D.T. (possibly Daytona Tire and Rubber). This example of a pre-finalized example of the Mk.V Gas mask is quite deteriorated. There is major cracking and lacerations in the rubber. The Navy Diaphragm Mk.V gas mask was first issued and released in 1952 but saw major improvements throughout the years with the finalization sometime in the late 1950s (likely 1957) that improved upon the older M2-10A1-6 style C15 outlet cover. The C-1 filters for this mask are quite worse for wear. They are dated January of 1956 by General Tire Rubber company and are very damaged. The carrier for this mask is a standard first generation Mark V gas mask bag. It is in great condition. The head harness seems to be a DT example yet again and is in much better condition than the other example I own. These seem to be much better than the later examples.
