These are surplus and were picked up at the government warehouse. They are a closed cell foam mat and they protect against cold, moisture, and small objects on the ground. The mats are approximately 75” long and 24” wide. They are 3/8” thick and they weigh about 1 pound. Of course, they are green in color. These mats have two straps at the bottom to secure them in a tight roll when not in use. The roll is approximately 6” in diameter when tied. These mats are designed to withstand the very harsh and rugged abuse of battlefield conditions therefore, they should provide you with years and years of service under most any conditions you may find. These mats also make a good shooting mat, a mat to lie on when working on your car or truck, a tent entrance pad, or a cushioning mat when standing at your work bench for long periods of time. These could also be cut up to use for padding, vibration protection, or insulation material in dog houses, transit cases, boxes, or vehicles. I’m sure there are hundreds of uses you could find for these mats while hunting, fishing, camping, Boy Scouts, overnight stays, or any other reason you need to protect yourself from the cold, hard ground or floor.
