Description: This US GI Inland M1 carbine type 3 Walnut stock. It is rare to find a nice WW2 stock this nice any more. Made in the United States during WWII (1939-45) by S. E. Overton for Inland Division of General Motors. The stock is walnut and is in I think very good condition. It will clean up to near excellent condition with a little TLC . This stock is correct for Inland carbines from 4 million 900,000 to 6 million 730,000 It has a nice Big Inland Wheel on the right side and an "IO" in the sling bevel. It is complete with a correct late Inland Butt plate and a type 3 "Di" marked recoil plate. It also includes a very nice eccellent condition "IO" marked hand guard. Hand guard is a late 2 rivet, shallow groove. I was not able to get a good PIC of the IO in the sling bevel. Will try and get some close up PICs of the cartouche and the IO marking. There is a very small crack behind the recoil plate and a small crack by the recoil plate screw escutcheon. There is a gouge on the left side. Maybe an initial? WYSIWYG. Any questions? please ask.
