It weighs a LOT for its size, at 7.8 grams of solid 18k--at today's gold prices, it's a nice investment! I am calling it a "pinky ring" because although it is not "delicate" in the least--its manner of construction, with the shank being attached to the sides of the head rather than the bottom, causes it to be a petite finger size of 2.5. Do not let that deter you from buying, though, because this ring can be easily sized by your jeweler! The ring features a rectangular domed, curved face with a cross-hatched texture around the border. A genuine earth-mined emerald-cut bright green emerald, measuring approximately 5.5 x 4 mm (about .50 ct) is bezel-set in the center. PLEASE NOTE: The emerald has a chip in one corner, which does not affect wear--it's securely in the setting. The emerald is showcased by three full-cut diamonds set above and below it. As noted above, the shank is split, and is attached to the sides of the head, making for a very solid construction. There are no hallmarks, as the ring is handmade, but it does test positive for solid 18k gold, using jeweler's acid and the customary stone test. The face measures 3/4" top to bottom. The ring is a size 2.5, and can be sized by any competent jeweler. It weighs a massive 7.8 grams, and is in good vintage condition other than the chip in the emerald mentioned above.
