Description: Unique 1922 German 800 Silver Motor-Paced Cycling Winner's Medal Key Chain This beautifully engraved plaque was awarded to the winner of the 1922 Motor-Paced Cycling championship in the Olympic stadium in Berlin, Germany. It was likely awarded to legendary German cyclist Paul Thomas who won several championships in the 1920s (see picture of the 1922 event). The plaque is attached to a 800 Silver rolo chain so that the piece can be either used as a key chain or a pendant. The plaque reads: "Berlin Motor-Paced Cycling Championships - Berlin Olympic Cycling Track - 1922 - To the Winner". Very good antique condition with some patina according to age which can easily be polished away if desired. The chain measures 3 1/2" long and the plaque is 1 1/8" long x 3/4" wide. Total weight is 6.3 grams. The piece is stamped "800" for a common European silver standard of 80% silver. A very cool piece of European cycling sport history!
