Description: 72nd SEPARATE MECHANIZED BRIGADE Tactical Patch(embroidered)The 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhtsy * (Cossacks) (72 OMBr, military unit A2167) is a military formation of the mechanized troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is located in the city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region.The emblem contains a red British heraldic shield. At the base of the shield is an image of a black triangle connecting the corners of the shield, which symbolizes a black headdress of a soldier of the cavalry regiment of the Black Zaporozhtsy (cossacks). In the center of the shield is the image of the "Adam's Head", which was on the reverse side of the banner of the Black Zaporozhians. The offiicial motto of the brigade is the same motto of the cavalry regiment of the Black Zaporizhtsy from the beginning ofthe 20th century which suddenly became very actual again 100 years after - "УКРАЇНА АБО СМЕРТЬ" "UKRAINE OR DEATH"* Black zaporozhtsy (Чорні запорожці) was a horse regiment - military formation of the cavalry of the army of the Ukrainian People's Republic, which was fighting for Ukrainian independence in 1918-1920). Zaporozhtsy literally is a synonym of COSSACKS in Ukrainian language.72nd brigade took active part in the liberation of the Kharkiv region this fall.
