Description: Have two of these. Selling ONE per auction. NO, the rifles used to illustrate applications and threading are NOT part of the auction, they are there to show how to thread these and to illustrate ubiquity. I've been told they're Indian. I've been advised they're Pakistani. What I know is, they're unmarked and a very pale shade of gray-green, full length, used on UK Commonwealth, Empire, and British rifles right up until the present day. They're new, but have been stored somewhere for a long time. Just about identical units are still issued all over Asia and in some parts of Africa. They may LOOK neutral gray, but they're a very light gray-green. Unusual color, and these may be "issue" somewhere, or maybe they're just shooter-style reproductions. They DO work and they seem to have been in storage for a long time. Hopefully, two points are obvious: ONE SLING PER ORDER, and the various rifles shown at the end of the auction are not only not included, they appear ONLY for illustration purposes. Those bear other straps, but demonstrate correct threading. Fine for SMLE's, nominally appropriate for #4 Enfields, and these saw use right up until quite recently. In fact, in some parts of the world, these same straps are still sold commercially right now and for over a century. They are still manufactured in various former Empire and Commonwealth countries. Regulation length, treated with anti-mildew and moisture resistant spray unlike the often-rotted originals.
