The obverse of the blue banknote features a profile of a man wearing a Karimojong headdress, the Source of the Nile Monument in Njeru, the Nile River, a purple-to-green Optically Variable Ink patch, and the coat of arms of Uganda. The reverse of the paper bill depicts a profile of a man with a Karimojong headdress, a sun, a map, a talapia fish, and the National Independence monument in Kampala. The banknote comes with a red-to-green windowed security thread with a demetallized BOU II. It also bears a watermark that reveals a crested crane, an electrotype 2000, and Cornerstones. It is 135 x 66 mm in size and is signed by Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile and George W. Nyeko. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition.
