Description: Maker: One of the great porcelain manufacturers at the turn of the last century, William Guerin (W.G. & Co.) produced exquisite wares in Limoges and its history reflects that high quality. Guerin was initially a standalone company but merged with the iconic firm Jean Pouyat just before World War 1. Shortly after the war ended, the combined company became part of the renowned Limoges firm Bawo & Dotter (Elite Works), which continued to use the Guerin mark. Source: third edition of the Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frances Gaston. Age: These 2 beautiful dinner plates have the Guerin blue overglaze decorator's mark number 6 that was in use from 1891 to 1932, and the green Guerin white ware mark number 3 that was in use from 1900 to 1932. Design: The pattern features lovely trailing pink flowers within a band of daisies against a pure white background. Size: The plates are 9 5/8 inches wide and together weigh 1 pound 14 ounces. Condition: They are in excellent condition, especially considering their age and fragile material. There are no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, repairs or crazing. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
