Description: Travel back in time with this Ton-Klar "The Herrmann" violin. With a 13-1/2'' body and a 22'' scale length, it is between 3/4 and 7/8 size violin. The inside label reads Ton-Klar/The Herrmann/Made in Germany/expressly for William Lewis & Son, Chicago, Illinois. Lewis ran a high-end Chicago violin store. Two-piece flame maple back. Flame maple sides. Spruce top. Maple neck. Four fine tuners. Cosmetically, the violin looks alright. There are some scuffs, scrapes, and scratches, particularly on the lower treble bout by the tailpiece. The D tuning peg does not match the others.. Functionally, it plays. The pegs and peg holes are in good round. It comes with an old bow. The previous owner has carved "AMW" into the wood. The bow does not have hair. It comes in a modern case. The zipper, handle, and hinges work. It's a fine violin, ready for its next owner. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 32"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
