Description: A 1950's AUTOGRAPHED Boston Red Sox Pitcher Tom Brewer DUBOW FIELDER'S GLOVE. TOM BREWER, who died in 2018, played in the major leagues for eight seasons (1954-61), all with the Boston Red Sox, and compiled a record of 91-82. Tom was 6 feet 1 and played between 175 and 180 pounds. He batted and threw righty, so this is the correct hand glove. At various times he was labeled as hard throwing, with a good change-up and a terrific curve ball. Hall of Famer Lou Boudreau, Brewers first major-league manager, was quoted saying that Brewer could be another Bob Lemon not only being a good pitcher but because Tom can hit, field his position well, and run. Brewers best year was 1956, when he was selected as an All-Star, finished with a career-best record of 19-9, and received a couple of votes as Most Valuable Player. 8 widest by 9 top to bottom. I checked online as well as in Joe Phillips Vintage Baseball Glove Price Guide, No. 11 and I found none listed but there is another one, un-autographed, online. A few issues include the ink on the outside strap, vinyl piping, and a damage spot none of which takes away from the display ability of this hard to find glove made more unique by the autograph. As an employee of a Red Sox affiliated radio station I had wonderful access to the players on visits to cover games or do interviews or attend "Red Sox Alumni" events. Thanks, Jay
