TM Books & Video DVD Cat Power Construction 2011 2015 Brand New Caterpillar Rare

Description: In this 2011 TMBV DVD, it starts with James Coffey singing the song to this program, then we are introduced to the animated foreman by the name of big machine mike, as he talks about different machines with an introduction by his friend Henry (not the number 3 green engine from Thomas The Tank Engine). The first machine that mike talks about is the dozer. Did you know that caterpillar’s biggest dozer is the D11, and also weighing at 230,000 pounds? The beast can carry 425 gallons of fuel and has an 850 horsepower engine. The front blade is 22 feet wide, and is 9 feet tall. On the back of the bulldozer under the cab, the claw is called a ripper. Did you know that bulldozers are used to clean up messes after devastating earthquakes? As always, every bulldozer needs a front blade, a cab, the engine, and crawler tracks. The crawler tracks are driven by a sprocket which is powered by the engine. Besides the D11, there is also the D9T and the D7T. Plus some smaller dozers. Next, Mike talks about motor graders, using some clips from TM’s original I love cat machines parts 1-4. The main parts of the motor grader uses most of the same parts from the bulldozer except that there is a circle. Which is used to operate the blade. Did you know that the motor grader’s largest blade is 24 feet wide? The front wheels are used to tilt on hills. During the big job, the bulldozer comes first, followed by the motor grader. Which is called a rough grade meaning that the bulldozers must remove the big rocks and clumps of dirt. The finish grade is when the motor grader goes back and forth until the road is perfectly smooth. Afterwards, an educational segment on excavators are included which contains the stop motion feature of how a toy excavator is built. The main parts of the excavator are the crawler tracks, the cab, the main boom, the dipper arm and the bucket. Of course the excavator can spin 360 degrees clockwise and counterclockwise. The bucket can hold up to 500 shovel loads of dirt. There are 2 kinds of excavators one with wheels, the other with crawler tracks. The wheel excavators can go really fast than the crawler tracks. Did you know that wheel excavators are called rubber ducks in Great Britain? The extremely small excavators are called mini-excavators. They weigh in at 4000 pounds. The largest excavator weighs in at 190,000 pounds. Next, James Coffey sings a rearrangement version of can you dig it? Using clips from the original I love cat machines parts 1-4. After that, mike talks about the wheel loaders. They are used to load gravel, coal, sand, rocks and dirt. The biggest wheel loader that the company made is the 994D. It weighs in at 220 tons, over 21 yards long, and it is measured at 22 feet high. 220 tons is the same measurement as 295 cows. The bucket can hold 1800 cubic yards of dirt. A cubic yard is at 3 feet high, 3 feet wide and 3 feet deep. The wheels are 12 feet high. Next, mike talks about the D7E dozer, which uses the James Bond inspired song that was later used in the real or toy segment in this video. The D7E can move dirt really fast. They can move 330 cubic yards of dirt in 1 hour. Afterwards mike talks about the dump trucks using a stop motion assembly on the toy version like the excavator. Many of the Cat Dump trucks are articulated. Like the model 740 for example. It has a hitch to turn sharp bends, and has a dump box. On most of the dump trucks, there is an ejector blade is used to push the dirt, gravel, rocks, coal, and sand, without raising the dump box. The company’s biggest dump box can go as high as a 4 story building. After that, Jim sings a rearrangement version of caterpillars on the rails from ILCM part 3 using model trains on TM’s studio layouts both the Lionel 2007 fastrack layout, and a much bigger one designed by RJ Walpole or the entire tmbv staff. After that there is a real or toy quiz. Next Mike talks about the mighty scrappers. Wheel tractor scrappers are used for building a big parking lot for example. They have a cut, and a fill. The main parts are the front edge and the bowl. The front edge cuts into the high area where it transferred to the bowl. The other non powered scrappers are often pulled by the 75C track type tractor. They are called the in tandem types. Sometimes the 621G models often help each other. Afterwards mike and Henry talks about teamwork. It is the best way to get the job done. Next Jim Coffey sings the caterpillar rap using more clips from ILCM parts 1-4. Afterwards mike talks about the backhoe using a stop motion assembly on the toy version. All kinds of backhoes are very versatile. They can do the work of an excavator and a front end loader combined. The digging bucket is attached to the boom, and the dipper arm. They are smaller than the standing excavator. Stabilizers are mechanical feet to secure the machines to the ground. Next there is a montage of black and white films during the early years of the caterpillar company. Next there is look at a steam tractor, and back to the colorized footage with the largest dump truck. First machines are gray with red lettering. They were all painted yellow in 1931 during the Great Depression. This has a song that was overused by various films including ice cream trucks. Finally, It’s test time! Do you know the names of these machines, as well as the companies that formed the caterpillar company? Listen carefully to the reference of the since been canceled game show: who wants to be a millionaire. All in all this 2011 TMBV dvd is really fun, really educational, and really entertaining for kids of all ages to enjoy. This is also a great companion to the I love cat machines parts 1-4 videos. But like the popular I love Toy Trains video series also created by tmbv, it’s really important to learn from TMBV more often than oh I don’t know, every Sharon Miller style episode of Thomas The Tank Engine? But if you really love big machines at construction sites, it’s also fun to enjoy machines just like Bob the builder.
