Description: 1853 by the American Tract Society. A small book with 8 Christian-themed stories. Written by Charlotte Elizabeth (Tonna). Charlotte Elizabeth Tonna was a prolific British author of religious tracts and children’s stories. The Newfoundland Fishermen was inspired by her years as a military wife in Nova Scotia from 1815-1818. The book is inscribed (ink is light/fading): Miss Eveline H. Pratt, a present from her Mother, 1953. Eveline Hayden Pratt (1844-1928) married Harrison Sherwood Morgan (1841-1871). Their children were Harrison Sherwood Morgan Jr. (1867-1953); Joseph E. Morgan (1870-1964); and Grace Eveline Morgan Rogers (1872-1952). Please see photos for condition, which is remarkably good for its age (not sure it was ever read): * Front and back cover in good shape; few minor "chips."* Spine has a few spots of missing binding, largest at the bottom.* Other than inscription, no writing on the pages. * No missing, torn, or loose pages.* Binding is VG-plus. Thanks for looking and please email with questions. All sales are final. Happy to combine shipping.
