Description: From London Types - originally published by Heineman in 1898 in an edition using lithographs taken from prints from the woodblocks (there were also a limited number sets directly from the woodblocks). These prints/Lithographs were coloured. The 1980 Whittington Press prints use the original woodblocks and are monochrome black and cream showing all the detail of the woodblocks. The woodblocks and the prints have not been "tidied up"! They were printed in a limited edition of 225. These are from no 52 (photo of the signed (by Edward Craig who instigated and supervised the production of this edition) page is shown. The image was used for the cover of London Types - see photo.
